Livory is friendly and positive, you’ll never find any corners or edges. Instead, each corner is melted softly and carefully. The typeface feels at ease with nature. It is inspired by snaggy forests, mellow meadows, wuthering heights & the season’s changes.
Livory’s endings and serifs are dripping like morning dew, the ligatures underline the smoothness. You will quickly realize Livory’s suppleness in display sizes. Furthermore, the slight contrast between thick and thin parts supports its quality in reading sizes.
The fonts are equipped with a lot of typographic features – besides several nice OpenType features, each style contains fitting small caps and a set of 50 special and standard ligatures.

If two letters have the nature to collide when used in combination a ligature is needed to solve this unwanted event. Ligatures are especially designed solutions for such letter combinations. This font contains a set of ligatures which are automatically substituted as soon as these letter combinations are typed in.

Sometimes a typeface contains a set of special designed ligatures which are not made up to solve unwanted collisions but to give a unique connection of certain characters, resulting in a carefulness form of the words. This font family is equipped with a set of discretionary ligatures which can be manually switched on and off with the help of the Opentype features.
Shake It Off!
Small Caps are uppercase characters set at the same height and weight as the lowercase characters or text figures. They are used in text emphasize or typographically differentiate passages beside the italics. Professional designed Small Caps are not simply scaled-down versions of the capital letters – they are designed to work with the lowercase letters and have the same stroke weight.

When lining figures are used in a reading text they often produce a visual stretch in the text and disturb the grey value. It has the same effect if you use ALL CAPS in a text. One solution could be to make the numbers slightly smaller and give them some more space in-between. The other, more elegant way is to use the old style figures, they have ascenders and descenders like the lower case letters and will fit seamlessly in the text.
