The Subway Types
Subway Ds3
All Graffiti fonts are bad. Nearly.

The idea was to create a package containing prominent tag styles of graffiti strongholds like New York, Berlin and Paris. Shik (New York), Deon (Paris) and Etan (Berlin) came together to show the typical tag styles of these metropolitan areas. The fonts were digitized, spaced, kerned and programmed by Hannes von Döhren. The Subway Types are highly equipped. Each one consists of 4 alphabets (Uppercase, Lowercase, Small Caps & Swash). They also include ligatures and some specials like underlines and a huge range of accents for a wide language support. With the OpenType technology these features can be applied easily.

Sheesh! Fuck the Buff.

Ligatures

If two letters have the nature to collide when used in combination a ligature is needed to solve this unwanted event. Ligatures are especially designed solutions for such letter combinations. This font contains a set of ligatures which are automatically substituted as soon as these letter combinations are typed in.

Cheap Trashcans

Small Caps

Small Caps are uppercase characters set at the same height and weight as the lowercase characters or text figures. They are used in text emphasize or typographically differentiate passages beside the italics. Professional designed Small Caps are not simply scaled-down versions of the capital letters – they are designed to work with the lowercase letters and have the same stroke weight.

Masters of the Yard!

Swashes
Swash Letters are extravagant, flourish versions of letters. They can be used to give special attention to words or headlines. Mostly there are swash alternates for the capital letters which are set in the beginning of a word. Sometimes an „end-character“ can also be swashy to emphasize the end of a word or give it a nice swirl.

Ornaments

Additionally to the letters this font family contains a big set of extras, arrows and drips fitting to the characteristics of the styles. The user can combine text and extra elements keeping a homogenous design language. The full set of extras is shown in the character set overview below.
