Shelton is a Typeface with an eroded, printed look. The letters seem to be from different alphabets to support the wood type feeling. Every letter has an alternate character. Shelton has wide language support and also contains arrows and other special glyphs available through the OpenType contextual alternates feature.
The whole look and the idea of mixed up letters is coming from the wood type era where each letter has been carved out of wood and the alphabets where stored in drawers or big ones even in shelves. Today in the digital age we have much more options and need less space for the storage of typefaces – but the handmade and crafted look has its own quality which is difficult to achieve with digital products – But we gave our best: Each letter has an alternate counterpart to avoid the typical font-repitition-effect: So you can just pick the alternate option and try out how it looks best.
